Baubles and bits

It's been a hectic summer, and I haven't been good about posting things as they've been happening. But I thought I'd add a few more pictures to pass along to our potential cupcake provider!

This is a small scrap of beautiful vintage beaded fabric. I have no idea what I'll do with it yet, but I love it. Might make a ring-bearer pillow?

Here are some keys which will be used with the floral decorations:

Here's another purple vase (I've been collecting them for months) and some baubles which will be used for bouquets:
They are resting on a frame that we'll be using as a serving tray.

All of this stuff came from Lisa Scala's fascinating and educational Scala Art Center.

A start on invitations

We found these at a craft store. They cost $2.00 for each pack of 10 cards. We bought ten packs.

We'll fancify them with a lock motif and a touch of purple.

More free glassware

Here's yesterday's pickup:

A whole slew of white glass votive candle holders, plus a few additional wine glasses. Picked these up from a curbalert posting for FREE.

Not sure where we'll use them. Perhaps to line the chapel window sills, or scattered throughout the reception space.

Yard sale finds

Forgot to post these yard sale finds from a few weeks ago:

The fabric will be used for draping. The vintage jewelry for bouquets. The vase for reception table decor. The basket for flower-girl petals.

Another few non-wedding items were included in our batch of stuff, all of which came to $10.

Dramalabras

Candelabras with double the drama and zero the fire risk.

I found these on one of the local online yard sale sites, and picked up twenty of them for a buck each.

Charlie doesn't care for them all that much, but I think they'll make quite a statement on the tables.

Flowers and frames, oh my.

Yesterday's thrift store acquisitions. Paid about $12.00 for the silk flowers and this not terribly attractive over-sized picture.

Wondering why the picture?

Stay tuned.

Freecycle Rocks: Wine glasses

Admittedly, this is a horrible picture. I took it with my new smart phone, which I don't really know how to use. Theoretically it has a kick-ass camera, though you can't tell from this example.

What you are almost seeing here is a collection of mismatched wine glasses. We got them along with about 20 more as part of a giant batch from Freecycle. Thought they'd be a lot nicer to use than disposable plastic cups, and we can just pass on the ones we don't want to keep to someone else.

We'll need more, but this is a pretty good start.
